Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintaining compliance with internal standards, regulations and gaming regulations.
  • Visually monitoring all areas of the property at all times in order to identify possible theft or safety risks.
  • Actively monitor table games, casino floor, cage and all other cash-handling areas.
  • Research and review disputes, locate video evidence requested for investigations by other departments and conduct special surveillance assignments.
  • Operating with phones, computers and other surveillance equipment, input/retrieve data, take photographs and make DVD’s.
  • Maintaining the highest level of discretion and confidentiality while performing all surveillance duties.
  • Assist Nevada Gaming Control Board Officers and local Law Enforcement in investigations as needed. Maintaining & performing gaming audits and reports. Maintaining professional communication at all times for the ease of information sharing.
  • Knowledge of gaming laws, all casino games, financial areas, property policies and procedures, with a basic understanding of the hospitality and gaming industry.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Perform supportive functions and other duties as assigned within the scope of this job description to be determined by the supervisor based on business needs.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a track record of performing each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Be able to sit for long periods of time and work in mid-level to low light. Must have good vision and the ability to distinguish color. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Sufficient knowledge of surveillance equipment such as cameras, monitors, keyboards and multiple computer functions is greatly preferred. Ability to review, gather and interpret quantitative or qualitative data, make decisions based on the data and find solutions. Must have the ability to work independently and in close quarters with others and remain alert throughout the duration of the shift.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma and GED preferred. Minimum 1 year of previous Casino Surveillance experience required or any combination of education, training, or experience listed that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A Valid Nevada Gaming License is required.

Language Skills

Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills. A high level understanding of interpersonal skills to productively deal with business contacts and team members at all levels of the company. Possess a strong attention to detail. Have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of staff and Law Enforcement. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete reports, correspondence and communicate with Team Members, peers and Management.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure and calculate figures and amounts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations in a calm, professional manner. Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form. Excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills are a must.

Other Qualifications

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours. Effective time management and multi-tasking abilities are a must, a professional appearance is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

Ability to obtain/renew all government required licenses or certification (Gaming Registration).

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
