This is back Open. It is a very tough role; candidates need to be equally strong in Power BI and SQL Server Development.

It can be a Sr. SQL Server Developer with heavy Power BI or Sr. Power BI Developer with heavy SQL

We need a 10+ year candidate

Will consider fully remote for a strong candidate (prefer someone that will relocate to Ohio (near Cleveland)

Must Haves:

• 9+ years of Power BI development
• 6+ years of SQL development

Must Haves

• Must have strong Power BI, SQL, and some Azure.
• Mostly development, but should have some Administration
• Certifications are a big plus

• Must have 9+ years of experience
• Great Communication
• Strong Power BI and heavy SQL Server

Day to day:

Daily refresh of dashboards and troubleshooting issues

Developing new dashboards this will be working through requirements to create and modify dashboards

70% development and 30% administration

Job Description:

The Senior Power Bi Developer contributes to analyze, design, develop reports to improve decision-making process for executive team. Provides guidance in developing various analytical and operation dashboards, research/recommend new technologies, techniques, proof of concepts, standards, and best practices and standards. This role is highly visible and collaborative, providing guidance on various dashboards/reports projects associated with our senior executive team.

Skills/ Qualifications:

• Analyze business requirements into technical requirements for reporting/dashboards, data models, and databases.
• Develop various reports for business consumption using a variety of Power BI tools.
• Provide detailed source analysis and data mappings/transformations to BI developers to implement new data sources and integrations.
• Configure all BI systems/environments to deliver BI solutions.
• Develop, implement, coordinate user testing plans in QA/UAT environments to validate BI solutions.
• Perform daily/weekly deployments from lower to higher environments, validate post deployment changes to ensure established Release Management Process followed.
• Assist development teams with analysis and design for new or existing systems.
• Play role of Subject Matter Expert for business units and provide detailed information on data availability, location, lineage, and quality.
• Provide support for incident management, track daily ticket queues and prioritize the solutions.
• Perform peer reviews to ensure conformity to standards and quality.
• Work with other IT team members, implement new standards, new technology, and tactical solutions driving the business strategy forward.
• Adhere full SDLC (System Development Lifecycle) process, track obsolescence/release date of new products, stay abreast of new technology.
• Responsible for implementing security on developed Power BI dashboards in accordance with pre-established architecture
• Responsible for maintaining existing Power BI analytical/operational dashboards and ensure all dashboards refreshed including underline reports as per daily/weekly scheduled
• Collaborate proactively with functional users, analysts, and other team members to gather business requirements for reporting
• Understand business requirements, determine implementation strategy, and translate into reports that conform to best practices and standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, optimize report performance within defined SLA

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science

Overall, 9-10+ years of Power BI report design, development, and implementation of dashboards.

5-6 years of experience in SQL development experience on Microsoft products

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with design patterns in the creation of architectural and database design deliverables.
• Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite (TSQL, SSIS, SSRS), exemplary general IT knowledge (applications development, deployment, testing, operations, documentation, standards, best practices, security, hardware etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with internal teams and management to develop solutions.
• Excellent time management, communication, presentation, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

• Master's degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent experience
• Power BI administration experience is a plus
• Power BI/Azure certification is a plus
• Previous healthcare industry experience
