The University of Miami UHealth at SoLé Mia opening September 2025 , will bring high-quality academic medicine to North Miami, Aventura, and surrounding communities. The University of Miami UHealth – Cardiology division at SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a EKG Technician.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                           

1. Oversees recordings of electromotive instant variation in heart muscle of patient using electrocardiograph to provide accurate information for diagnosis of all heart ailments.

2. Maintains logging and scheduling systems for patient procedures.

3. Provides patient education and instructions for testing procedures.

4. Determines preliminary analysis and interpretation of test results to facilitate physicians’ study and diagnosis.

5. Oversees and monitors electrocardiogram for normal and abnormal patterns. 6. Attaches electrodes of electrocardiograph or Holter monitor to patient to record information over extended period.

7. Organizes and forwards final test outcomes to attending physician or healthcare professional to analyze and interpret data.  

8. Administers assessments on patients of various conditions and ages considering the physical and physiological needs of every patient. Monitors electrocardiogram for normal and abnormal patterns.

9. Develops and maintains positive interpersonal relations with other department personnel and physicians.

10. Assists in orientation and skill development of other staff, and students to assure a smooth transition in their roles.     

11. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                            

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
