Position Title:  Outpatient Pediatric Dietitian- Los Angeles, CA  

Reports To: Director of Nutrition Systems

Location: Morrison Healthcare at LA General

Job Details: Join a supportive and collaborative team of dietitians and diet techs dedicated to serving our diverse patient population and providing evidenced based nutrition therapy. Large teaching hospital with multiple ambulatory care clinics. This position would cover our outpatient pediatric clinics: general nutrition, preemie, hematology/oncology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology, and cardiology. Dietitian will work on a multidisciplinary team including doctors, nurses, NPs, social workers, diabetes educators as well as residents and interns. Specialty certification (CSP, CNSC, CSPCC etc) within 1 year of hire is required. Pediatric experience and CCS paneling preferred.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, no weekend, rotating holidays (2/year)

Salary: $80,000-$97,000

Other Forms of Compensation: meal plan, phone stipend, CEU's, AND and CDR dues paid, tuition and education reimbursement

Job Summary

We are seeking a Dietitian Specialist to join our Nutrition Team in Los Angeles, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides /Lead nutrition services in identified specialty area for a minimum of 70% of workload/responsibilities. Specialty areas include pediatrics and outpatient services. Assesses the nutritional status of patients/ residents through documentation in the medical record
• Trains and mentors patient services staff and interns as applicable
• Fosters teamwork and establishes effective strategies to implement innovative programs which leads to optimal clinical nutrition and financial outcomes
• Complies with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient/resident rights policies
• Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs

 
Qualifications :

• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board, in states where required
• Two (2) years of experience in area of specialty required
• Specialty certification when applicable
• Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft applications, electronic medical record & diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming
