Glanbia Performance Nutrition is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glanbia headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois. GPN manufactures and markets the full range of performance nutrition products including protein, pre-workout, muscle gainers and general health. Products are sold through a variety of channels including specialty retail, the internet and gyms in a variety of formats including powders, bars and Ready-to-Drink beverages. GPN has a global and expanding footprint with a current in-market presence in 24 countries.

Job/Project Summary: 

Be a key contributor to the GPN team as a Lean Operations Leadership & Project Management Intern.

Learning Objectives:

• Develop Lean Management and Continuous Improvement (CI) Practices
• Develop a sense of leadership based in accountability, sustainability and effectiveness
• Develop a Lean thinking and CI mindset that drives business through robust problem solving
• Develop a working understanding of operational processes, to real business case scenarios in production
• Develop critical leadership soft skills that build relationship management skills appropriate for business
• Build collaboration and project management skills in a live and dynamic environment

Expected Outcomes:

• Completion of intern team project and final project presentation
• Strong Team collaboration
• Active participation in intern activities

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent): Job duties would include, but not be limited to:

• Research, Justify, and Execute operational improvement projects through coordination and collaboration with cross functional stakeholders
• Project Management and schedule development
• Tactical and operational Problem Solving

Minimum Qualifications:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree majoring in Operations Management, Engineering (Industrial or Technology), Management, or other related field  
• Clear written communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Self-starter and highly motivated
• Ability to follow through on tasks with minimum direction
• Ability to shift and pivot to meet business needs
• Effective working individually and within team environments.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

The opportunity will be based in Aurora, Illinoiswith hybrid working arrangements available through our Smart working modelwhich allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance. 

Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois. This range may not be applicable to other locations. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.  Annual salary for Illinois - based employees for this role is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.
