Location: Midvale, UT – Hybrid schedule: 3 days remote, 2 days in office Stellar Senior Living is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing Specialist to join our corporate office team in Midvale, UT. About the Role As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing and reimbursement for our communities. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex billing processes with professionalism and persistence. Your day-to-day will include managing claims submissions, resolving discrepancies, and working directly with insurance providers to ensure smooth payment processes. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy combining problem-solving skills with customer service. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate claims for electronic and paper billing.
  • Process Medicaid, Medicare, and Primary/Secondary Insurance claims, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Follow up on all submitted claims to ensure timely resolution and payment.
  • Investigate and resolve claim discrepancies, denials, and payment rejections.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to verify and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations, billing procedures, and payer requirements.
  • Monitor and reconcile aging reports; escalate inconsistencies as needed.
  • Correct billing errors, file appeals, and resubmit claims promptly.
  • Provide responsive support to inquiries from facilities and insurance companies.
  • Accurately complete and submit UB04 billing forms.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing or in a similar healthcare billing role.
  • Strong knowledge of billing software, EMRs, and electronic claim submission processes.
  • Solid understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, and insurance payer requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
