We are searching for a Maintenance Electronics Technician to join our team at our Merit Steel location in Kouts, Indiana. The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues on equipment.

So, what will you be doing as a Maintenance Electronics Technician?

• Repair, install, modify, troubleshoot, and test equipment.
• Gather information and feedback from other departments around repairs and efficiency of machines.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair motors.
• Work with high and variable voltage, DC power and circuit controls, and 480 V single and three phase.
• Understand, repair, and program PLC equipment and controls.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Proficient with troubleshooting/diagnostics and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge and experience with PLC’s; experience with Siemens a plus but not required.
• Experience and understanding of AC and DC motors and power systems.

• Familiar with 24V, 110V, 240V, 277V, and 480V single and three phase knowledge
• Experience understanding and reading ladder logic & symbols.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and electronic schematics, diagrams, and blueprints

• General mechanical knowledge.
• Must be organized and able to multi-task.
• Must exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
