Associate Trade Marketing Manager – Butter Wines
Location: Downtown Napa, CA (Full-Time, In-Office)

John Anthony Wine & Spirits is a high-growth, innovative company headquartered in downtown Napa, CA. Our portfolio includes Butter Wines, John Anthony Vineyards, Serial Wines, and Weather Wines, which have received multiple 90+ scores and top Nielsen rankings. The portfolio also extends to Sake and spirits, with innovations planned.

We are seeking a rockstar trade marketer to join our team in Napa, CA. This role will work closely with the Senior Brand Manager to support the development and execution of marketing strategies across trade and consumer channels for Butter Wines. Role Overview:
The Assoc. Trade Marketing Manager will collaborate with the Senior Brand Manager to develop and execute trade and shopper marketing strategies that support national off-premise and on-premise sales teams across various channels and media. This role involves close partnership with internal and external creative, media, and marketing teams, as well as wholesale and distributor sales teams and retail partners.

Key Responsibilities:
Brand Support
•  Maintain and enforce brand guidelines across all channels to ensure a cohesive brand image.
•  Represent Butter Wines as a brand ambassador in internal and external communications and events.
•  Contribute to channel, category and competitor intelligence for the brand.
•  Participate in multi-year, annual and quarterly strategic marketing planning, focused trade and shopper marketing to support sales goals nationally and by region.

Trade Marketing
•  Lead the planning, execution, and communication of evergreen and seasonal marketing campaigns to drive sales, including developing POS materials and programs, managing 4th tier sales initiatives, optimizing the digital shelf, and supporting event marketing efforts.
•  Collaborate with trade, brand and DTC marketing to create integrated omni-channel messaging across paid, owned, earned, and trade media channels.
•  Execute and manage shopper marketing programs including 4th tier channels. Leveraging platforms like Instacart and DoorDash, in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
•  Oversee POS development and execution, including creating briefs, managing design and production, maintaining the POS portal, and ensuring on-time delivery to warehouses within budget.
•  Support sales efforts by developing compelling presentations and decks for off-premise and on-premise opportunities.
•  Drive paid social media content strategy and targeting to support (PODs).
•  Manage digital asset organization and communication, ensuring the sales team has access to up-to-date, effective toolkits.
•  Collaborate with the PR agency to align earned media strategies and tactics with trade marketing objectives.
•  Provide event support including Premiere Napa Valley, and Food & Wine shows.
•  Lead day-to-day budget management, project planning, creative development, content creation, asset deployment, and logistical coordination.
•  Additional responsibilities and projects as needed to support business priorities.

Reporting and Optimization
•  Maintain and update the brand dashboard and monthly summary, tracking key metrics, analyzing performance, and recommending optimizations.
•  Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly executive reports and presentations, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:
•  Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
•  Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade marketing and/or brand management, preferably in the wine and spirits industry.
•  Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with various teams and external partners.
•  Fluent across Consumer, Trade and DTC marketing channels and media.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and marketing tools such as Google Analytics, social media platforms, Meta advertising and email marketing.
•  Attention to detail and a strong ability to follow through on projects.
•  Curiosity and passion for the wine and spirits industry and brand marketing.
•  Familiarity with wine and alcohol compliance regulations across various states.
•  Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% as required.
