We are currently seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Project Accountant II to join our dynamic team in New York, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to take on full-cycle accounting responsibilities and play a critical role in supporting our financial goals across various projects. Key Responsibilities: Manage full scope of project accounting including project setup, costing, tracking, and financial closeout Monitor actuals vs. budgets for Production Groups and prepare variance reports Perform informal project reviews to ensure accurate revenue recognition Collaborate with managers to resolve budget/revenue variances and improve project financial performance Oversee monthly and quarterly financial close processes Conduct close-out meetings and recommend corrective actions where needed Coordinate financial activities between project teams and the Accounting Department Monitor and support contract compliance and adherence to accounting standards Assist in collections and resolve contract terms detrimental to company financial goals Required Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Accounting/Finance (Bachelor’s preferred) 5–10 years of relevant experience in project accounting Experience with accounting software such as FinancialForce (or similar) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Self-directed with ability to work under tight deadlines Understanding of the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry is a plus Work Requirements: This is a full-time, in-office position based in New York, NY Must be flexible to work overtime as required
